better days still to come
Today has been no less than a slog, and we arent even to lunch yet. Im in my health class right now having a time of it. To be honest, im absolutely miserable.
Things havent felt quite right in a while, between the new cat and my mom going on her cross-country road trip, things have been changing faster than i can keep up. i dont exactly like that feeling.
anyways, the cat. His name is Eddie [as in Ed Sheeran] and he's a domestic longhair tabby. His fur is pretty short for a longhair, but hes only 2, so that might change with time. Currently, he's a bit of a menace.
Eddie takes great pleasure in tormenting our poor dog, Mel, a blind catahoula leopard-pitbull mutt. Mel is around 10 years old now, and despite having the demeanor of a puppy, he certainly doesnt have the energy of one.
Eddie tries to play with mel constantly [mostly by bapping him in the face or various other avalible appendages] and then skitters off when mel gets upset. Poor dog doesnt even know what's coming.
Despite their quarrels, they really seem to be warming up to eachother [mel tolerates ed drinking from his waterbowl] and have been co-exsisting mostly peacefully for the past week.
I will say, i never expected how much id enjoy having this cat around. Sure, he gets into every nook and cranny and bites my hand while playing with him, But he kept me company last night when i couldnt sleep. He layed down with me and my dad on the gutted couch and purred softly beneath the covers. I cant explain to you how soft his fur is, or how soothing his rythmic chirps are.
i love that little critter.
to summerize, world unforgiving, cat soft and warm.
